Our Oakville chiropractor is happy to let you know that as of May 26, 2020 we were able to return to a more regular schedule. COVID-19 had temporarily thrown a wrench into our daily routine, but we are finally starting to work our way back to normal! Dr. Steve and Dr. Jenn wanted to explain some of the new safety measures implemented at the clinic to keep our patients safe and healthy.
COVID Screening
Our front desk staff will completing screenings to help rule out any potential undiagnosed cases of COVID-19 to keep our patients healthy. Screening will be completed over the phone for patients who have not been the clinic before, and for patients who are re-booking after being away during the initial weeks of the COVID lockdown. Over the phone screening will just involve answering simple questions about any recent travel, whether or not you’ve had contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 or if you are experiencing any symptoms that are common with the virus (fever, cough, difficulty breathing etc.)
When you arrive for your appointment you will be required to sign a document confirming your answers to the above questions, and confirming you are not experiencing any symptoms of the COVID-19 virus.

Temperature Checks
To keep our patients safe, we will also be taking the temperature of everybody that enters the clinic. This applies to everybody entering the clinic. If you need the help of family member, or need to bring one of your kids along for the appointment, they will be screened and have their temperature taken as well. We encourage you to attend appointments alone whenever possible.
Temperatures are taken at the forehead and the thermometer does not have to touch the skin.
Social Distancing In The Clinic
We are making every effort to get our patients in and out of the clinic as seamlessly as possible. 90% of our patients will be taken into a treatment room immediately! Our waiting room seating has been cut in half to ensure that nobody sits too close together. For the most part, our waiting room has become obsolete as our amazing staff are getting patients into their treatment room immediately, which helps eliminate contact between patients.
At the desk, there are X’s clearly marked on the carpet to make it as easy as possible to keep 2 meters apart when checking in and out.
Face Masks
All of our staff are wearing face masks. At the recommendation of the Canadian government and the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, all of our staff are wearing face masks. Masks will be worn in all common areas, when interacting with our patients, and during all treatments.
We’ve had a lot of inquiries about whether or not it is mandatory that our patients wear masks when they come in for treatment. At this time, we are leaving the choice to the individuals. Some of our patients wear masks for treatment, some do not. The decisions is entirely up to you.
Front Desk Protection
We have installed a plastic shield at the front desk to protect our staff and patients. This guard also allows for the staff behind the shield to wear a face mask all day. This shield runs the length of the desk with a narrow gap at the bottom to pass documents or payment cards back and forth.

Disinfecting/Cleaning
We have upped our cleaning game. Each room is thoroughly disinfected between every patient. The chiropractic table, chair and doorknobs are all wiped down between every visit with antiseptic to ensure the safest environment for our patients. Also, it should go without saying, but the chiropractors will thoroughly sanitize their hands between patients.
We encourage our patients to sanitize their hands on the way in and out of the clinic. Sanitizer is readily available at our front desk for every patient to use.
So, with all these changes we are so happy to be back! It’s great that we’re starting to see our patients back in the clinic and that we are working our way back to normal.
