Chiropractor Oakville: Acupuncture For Pain Management
Acupuncture is a type of treatment that has been part of Traditional Chinese Medicine for more than 2,000 years. It is used by chiropractors and other health practitioners to help the body heal itself and provide relief from chronic pain and stress.

What Is Acupuncture?
During acupuncture, a chiropractor applies stainless steel needles to certain parts of the body, known as acupuncture points, or acupoints. When applied to these specific points, the stimulation can relieve pain in other parts of the body.
Acupuncture treatments last between ten and twenty minutes. The technique is painless. At our Oakville chiropractic clinic, acupuncture treatment may also involve the application of electrical stimulation to the needles to amplify the therapeutic benefit.
How Does Acupuncture Work?
According to traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture “turns on” the body’s self-healing abilities. The goal of acupuncture is to restore balance to the body and encourage well being.
Our Oakville Chiropractor stimulates the acupuncture points may also increase the flow of blood and reduce tension in the muscles. This allows the body to heal itself and relax.
Some acupuncture points are connected to specific parts of the body. Pressure applied to these can help those areas heal. Other points are more general and encourage overall health.
