Most companies and professions are covered through WSIB to receive Oakville chiropractic care and other services for a work injury.
If you get hurt at work TELL YOUR SUPERVISOR IMEDIATLEY! Slip and fall, lifting something heavy or wrist and hand symptoms form sitting a computer too long! Tell your employer and they will have you (the patient) fill out a form 6 and they should be filling out a form 7. When you come in for treatment our WSIB treating team will help you fill out the Form 8 for treatment.
Below is how you should go about filing a work injury claim with WSIB in Oakville.
Tell your employer and fill out appropriate WSIB forms. Your employer should fill out WSIB FORM 7 and submit it to WSIB within 5 days of the reported injury. WSIB FORM 8 will be filled out by a medical practitioner (Chiropractor, PT, Medical Doctor). The patient with the work place injury should be completing a WSIB FORM 6 either at work or upon initial visit at a medical clinic. If you need time off of work due to pain from your work injury, Nottinghill Family Wellness Centre can take care of this. Once approved from WSIB, if our chiropractor recommends time off from work, you should be compensated and proper documentation will be noted. Light duties, modified duties, restricted hours and modified hours are just some of the options our Oakville WSIB clinic have to help you get back on your feet faster.

Get treatment: Once the WSIB claim is approved and you get back to regular duties you are still entitled to treatment from our Oakville chiropractor or other medical professional. Depending on which area is injured, you can be pre-authorized for up to 12 weeks of treatment.

What’s Included in a WSIB Treatment Visit

Treatment can vary from rehabilitation work to chiropractic treatment. Most patients will get a session of Suction IFC and heat to loosen up the injured tissue and get a ton of blood flow to the area. This helps promote healing and removes any inflammation or stagnant
In most cases patients will receive Shockwave Therapy to the injured area. Shockwave Therapy is a pneumatic gun that hits a bullet against a transmitter head at 12 times a second for up to 1500 hits. Shockwave is the gold standard for most chronic conditions. Dr. Steve is one of a handful of practitioners in Ontario who perform Shockwave Therapy on WSIB patients.
Depending on your injury the patient will than get a chiropractic adjustment or a session of Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Therapy. Most WSIB injuries are treated 2 x a week for 4 weeks.
